A traditional village house of charm and character
with exposed stone walls, beams, sunny balcony and large garden, Chez
Providence B&B is set in the
heart of Cuxac-Cabardes, a typical picturesque unspoilt Black
Mountain
village near Carcassonne in the Languedoc, South-West France. It is ideally situated for touring the beautiful, romantic, and
fascinating ancient Cathar countryside which has inspired stories
of the Holy Grail, where its diversity
of scenery constantly surprises.

Relax in comfort with luxury modern facilities
in one of three spacious B&B (Chambre d’Hôte) rooms each with seating areas and en
suite shower or bathrooms. Enjoy our sunny balcony and terraced garden -
great for barbeques, relaxing or sun-bathing but with some trees giving
welcome shade!
In this historic region of
the Languedoc, South-West France,
the Aude pays du soleil you can expect to find 300 days of sunshine.
This lively area is open to a wide range of
Mediterranean
influences - especially Catalan.
You could spend a
lifetime in the Languedoc and not see everything; you will find the most amazing scenery:
winding mountain roads and gorges which lead you through
Europe’s largest forest and abundant wild life (look out for wild orchids);
by rivers and waterfalls to old mountain villages, ancient
churches, and historic ruined castles; mountain lakes with sandy beaches
where you can relax and swim; caves, “grottos” and
"goufres" which honeycomb the towering mountain
massifs.
Visit our many food markets,
brocantes, puces, vide-greniers and foires brocantes (all types of
antique and bric-a-brac markets), and taste
the gastronomic delights at our food fairs.
This region is a Mecca
of festivals and culture and the towns and villages hold
fetes and festivals all summer long.Close to Haut
Languedoc
Regional
Park
and the Mediterranean coast, with its beautiful beaches and pretty
harbour villages.

At Carcassonne,
nestled in the heart of the Cathar country, you will find the world’s most
beautifully restored medieval city, or you can cruise on the 300-year-old Canal du Midi - both World Heritage
sites.
Toulouse - only an hour's drive away - is France's
fourth largest city and boasts many elegant shops and art museums.
The house is built on
the site of a 15th century chateau. Many of the walls are over half a metre thick. The
sunny balcony looks over the garden and village green down towards the river Dure and forest
beyond. The village has good amenities and is situated in a peaceful valley and
centrally placed in the
Black Mountains
surrounded by forests above the vineyards.
Christina, the resident owner will be there
to give you a warm welcome in English or French,
and will be happy to advise you during your stay to ensure that you have
a great holiday, or
if you want to road-test the idea of living in France, Christina, an ex-English estate agent, may
be able to help you.
