Mountain lakes are fantastic for walking, swimming, sunbathing, picnicking or barbeques and other water sports - they make a wonderful day out. Near by are Le Lac de Pradelles great for swimming. The scenery is breathtaking and it is extremely peaceful and completely unspoiled. The lake is a perfect location for families with children to enjoy a picnic. Lac du Montagne - again a beautiful lake, is about 15 mins away but far larger and more commercial, this is the lake where the French spend their weekends and holidays. There is a wooden play boat in the shallow waters and there is a lifeguard present. There are a couple of restaurants offering a variety of menus. There is a lovely walk all around the lake with public barbecues, picnic spots and mini golf, and Lac de Merle which is part of the Sidobre circuit Mountain lakes.

In Cuxac-Carbardes we have an all-weather indoor pool.

Carcassonne Plage" is a huge, beautiful lake with a man-made sandy beach safe for swimming with pedalos and picnic areas and lovely walks on the outskirts of Carcassonne .

The Cote Vermeil (or the Ruby Coast) is the extension of the Costa Brava in Spain, and offers  huge un spoilt beaches less than an 1 ¼ hours from our property, Including: Narbonne, Cap D'Agde, Gruissan and many more on towards the Spanish border...sailing, swimming sand and sunshine. The area has always been a haven for artists with its sun, colours and the exceptional light have provided a perfect playground for twentieth century painting! – the birthplace of Fauvism, where early in the last century the likes of Matisse, Dufy, Gris and Picasso, amongst others, excelled in their art, mostly in Collioure, which is renowned for its light. This lovely and quaint fishing village dates back to Roman days.
